Vinaigrette, the salad-focused restaurant on South Congress, is opening a restaurant-within-a-restaurant called Tiny’s. Located within a tiny house on the north side of Vinaigrette’s patio, Tiny’s is slated to open in spring 2018.
Tiny’s will open in the morning and afternoon, serving healthy breakfast, drinks, and snacks. Expect cold beers and creative frozen margaritas (rosewater beet, chlorophyll ginger, and carrot sumac), smoothies, and “amped-up” coffee drinks too (think antioxidant-rich beet cocoa with espresso or sweet potato chai with housemade almond-fig milk). Vinaigrette’s proper restaurant does not currently serve breakfast (only brunch on the weekends), so this is a new meal service.
Since the restaurant is on Vinaigrette’s porch, where it will benefit from the shade of a live oak tree, it will be dog- and kid-friendly. Erin Wade, owner of Vinaigrette, is collaborating on the design and build with local architecture firm, Maker Architects.
Based out of New Mexico, Vinaigrette opened its Austin location in February 2016. This is the first restaurant-within-a-restaurant for the team.
This article has been updated to include Tiny’s new projected opening date.
