SXSW announced that the James Beard Award-winning winning television host, author, and chef Andrew Zimmern is a featured speaker for next year's festival and conference. He’s the first major food-related name so far.
Zimmern is known as the host of Bizarre Foods, where he travels the world trying out what could be considered unusual dishes. He also hosted the network's Driven by Food, where he explored off-the-radar spots in popular dining cities.
Currently, Zimmern is filming segments for his new Travel Channel show, The Zimmern List, where he highlights his favorite foods across the country and visits the people who make 'em. Austin will be featured, with Ramen Tatsu-ya and Guero’s Taco Bar.
SXSW keynote speakers include directors Barry Jenkins, writer Ta-Nehisi Coates, and London mayor Sadiq Khan. Last year's SXSW included Rachael Ray, Jose Andres, and Christina Tosi.
SXSW 2018 will take place from March 9 through 18, 2018.
