Baked by Amy’s, the pastry offshoot of Amy’s Ice Creams, is expanding fairly near the UT campus to 603 West 35th Street. This will be the second location for the bakery, and like the first, it will be next to an Amy’s Ice Creams (the company tends to build in small shopping centers). The tentative opening date is early 2018.
The menu of the new location will offer the same cookies, bars, and pies as the original, plus a new light lunch menu that’s in the works. In addition, the new Baked by Amy’s will serve wine and beer, which means sangria and mimosas.
The new location is significant to the Baked by Amy’s team, as it’s in an old house near the original location of Amy’s Ice Creams. General Manager Erin Stanley told Eater Austin:
We have kept intact as many of the details as possible including stained glass, hardwood floors and details on the roof and overhangs. It will feel almost like you’re walking into your grandma’s house with delicious cookies baking... We want to break the barriers of customers vs employees and welcome you into our ‘home.’
