Though forthcoming north campus bar Back Lot (which is taking over the now-shuttered Nasty’s) isn’t quite open yet, Otherside Deli has started serving food next door. The truck, located at 606 Maiden Lane, is open from 11 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week.

Otherside Deli has a focus on pastrami, corned beef, and chicken livers, as one of the partners worked at Hershel's East Side Deli in Philadelphia for four years. This means reuben sandwiches, chicken liver toast, and Russian dressing. There’s also a vegan sandwich option with nutritional yeast, mushroom pastrami, and cashew dressing.

In addition to sandwiches, Otherside is anticipating the bar crowds (Back Lot will supposedly open in a few weeks) by serving booze-friendly food, like fries and beer cheese with kettle chips.

Dive bar Nasty’s enjoyed a 32-year run in the area, closing earlier this year. The owners of Workhorse Bar took over the space and are turning it into Back Lot Bar, keeping the same neighborhood vibe but updating it slightly.
