Houndstooth Coffee’s impending East Side location will feature something the other two Austin locations don’t have: cocktails. The Austin-based coffee chain’s third cafe will serve up cocktails alongside the shop’s beer, wine, coffee, and espresso drinks when it opens sometime this fall.

The newest Houndstooth will be found on Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard as part of mixed-use development Platform. The space, designed with Dallas studio Official, will feature a U-shaped counter with bar, bench, and other sorts of seating. The space will include a patio overlooking Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard. It will stay open until 11 p.m. on the weekdays and until midnight on the weekends.

Over in Dallas, Houndstooth actually opened a cocktail bar within the cafe, Jettison. That bar serves up strong and low-proof cocktails, along with the classics.

This is the coffee shop’s third Austin location, and overall fifth Texas location. There’s also a sixth one pegged for Dallas. Founder and owner Sean Henry first opened Houndstooth on North Lamar in 2010. He followed that with the downtown location on Congress Avenue in 2013.
