Independence Brewing Co. is teaming up with former NFL football player and UT Longhorn Ricky Williams for a special beer and yoga class on Sunday, October 8 at the Whole Foods flagship.

It’s all in honor of the annual Red River Rivalry week, between the University of Texas Austin Longhorns and the University of Oklahoma Sooners. That game takes place during the Texas State Fair on Saturday, October 14.

To coincide with the showdown, Independence is rolling out its seasonal American amber beer, the Oklahoma Suks, while Williams, the Heisman Award-winning athlete who also happens to be a certified yoga teacher, hosts a beer and yoga class. Williams will also talk to participants after the class.

During his NFL career, Williams played for the New Orleans Saints, Miami Dolphins, and the Baltimore Ravens. He retired from football in 2012.

The October 8 beer yoga class takes place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Whole Foods Market's rooftop plaza on North Lamar. Tickets are $35.
