Dolce Neve, South First favorite gelato shop, is expanding with a second Austin location, which will be found within the Plaza Saltillo development in East Austin. Jointing the gelateria will be the first Texas location of Spanish tapas chain Barcelona Wine Bar, another Tarka Indian Kitchen, according to a newsletter sent out by real estate group Endeavor.
A further look into Endeavor’s linked brochure reveals that Plaza Saltillo will also include the Texas debut of Los Angeles-based burger joint Stout Burgers and Beers, along with Massage Sway owners’ juice venture Austin Juicery, and the already-announced Epoch Coffee location.
The Plaza Saltillo project will redevelop the 11-acre area between I-35, 4th, 5th, and Navasota streets, near the Capital MetroRail commuter rail station of the same name. It’s set to include apartments, offices, open spaces, and a public market.
Dolce already expanded with a second location in Houston earlier this spring, following the lead of cult noodle shop Ramen Tatsu-ya. Barcelona Wine Bar, like the other numerous locations, will feature tapas for dinner and brunch, along with an extensive wine list. Stout Burgers focuses on fully loaded burgers and beers.
Ground broke on Plaza Saltillo in June, and it's projected to open in 2019.
