— Downtown restaurant Forthright adds dinner service to its lineup. It'll be available starting on Friday, October 20, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Along with its daytime classics (toasts, burgers, salads), the restaurant will add French classics like steak frites and nicoise salad.

— Chefs Callie and Philip Speer, of Holy Roller and Bonhomie respectively, talked about the way they balance their marriage and work lives with Food & Wine. They ruled out the idea of ever running a restaurant together.

— The chef lineup for Wine & Swine is here, and it’s back with a New Orleans theme again, but a new location. It’ll take place at Camp Mabry (like last year’s Live Fire). There are familiar names like Aaron Franklin, Kevin Fink, and new ones like San Antonio chefs Steve McHugh (Cured), Pieter Sypesteyn (The Cookhouse), and Luis Colon (Bexar). Arnaud’s French 75 bartender Chris Hannah will tend to bar again too. It takes place on Sunday, November 19 from 1 to 4 p.m., and it benefits the Austin Food & Wine Alliance.

— Personal finance website WalletHub named Austin the 7th best food city in America, based on prices, number of restaurants, Yelp rankings, and other factors.

Pizza delivery app Slice will be available in Austin starting on Monday, October 16. It partnered with local restaurants like Rockin’ Tomato, 360 Pizza, and Brick Oven Pizza.
