Yuyo, the long-awaited Peruvian restaurant from the El Chile Group, finally announced its East Austin location. It’ll be found on Manor Road, taking over the company’s former original location of El Sapo, making its debut in late October, though no specific date has been announced yet.

The menu features a lot of seafood, from the cebiche bar where the raw fish dish is made-to-order. Then there are charcoal-grilled meats and vegetables, papa criolla, grilled chicken, arroz con mariscos, and more.

Desserts include ice cream made with lucuma fruit, a Peruvian dark chocolate cake topped with maracuya sorbet, and sweet potato doughnuts. As for drinks, cocktails are Peruvian, from pisco sours to chilcanos. Plus there are local beers and wines.

Executive chef Maribel Rivero spent some time working and cooking in Lima, Peru. “My goal was to open a restaurant that honors Peru’s indigenous ingredients and dishes,” she said in a statement, “as well as the people who cultivate them.”

Before the opening, Yuyo hosted many preview pop-up dinners. When it opens, it will be open from 4:30 to 10 p.m. daily for happy hour and dinner.

El Chile Group’s casual Tex-Mex restaurant El Sapo moved down to West 10th Street this summer. However, it quickly and suddenly closed in September. There are no plans to reopen the burger cantina as of now.
