Rise Biscuits and Donuts, a chain based out of North Carolina, announced plans for an Austin location set to open in early 2018. The Austin location will be at 2522 Guadalupe Street, which previously housed Fuzzy’s Tacos until that restaurant shuttered earlier this year.

Rise is known for its chicken biscuit and creative doughnut flavors (think creme brulee and birthday cake). The menu includes breakfast and lunch sandwiches, like bacon, fried egg, and cheese and chicken fried steak, as well as coffee and and salads. The restaurant will likely follow suit of other locations, which are open from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The Rise Biscuits and Donuts franchise currently has 14 locations across the south. The Austin location will be 2400 square feet with indoor seating and patio seating. The Rise team noted to Eater, “We believe Austin has a great appreciation of good, unique, fresh food and we, thus, decided to bring Rise to Austin.”
