Drive-thru and dine-in restaurant Flyrite’s Chicken is opening its second location at Burnet on Sunday, January 15. With a focus on using no artificial ingredients and chicken raised without antibiotics, the restaurant offers fried and grilled sandwiches, creative house-made sauces, salads, breakfast tacos, fried chicken and waffles, shakes, beer on draft, wine, and more.
The new Brentwood location will host a grand opening all-day celebration on Sunday, January 22, which includes two giveaways. One with free breakfast and coffee weekly for a year, and the other with free combination meal and drink, the first taking place in the morning (9 a.m. to noon), and the second from noon to 10 p.m. There’s only one entry per raffle although additional raffle tickets will be available for $10 with proceeds going to the Lamar Middle School. There will also be surprise giveaways throughout the day from neighboring businesses including Austin Beerworks, Apothecary Cafe & Wine Bar, Barley Swine, Tacodeli, and more.
The team behind the location includes Flyrite Chicken founder and president Kevin Warden (a Which Wich alum), barbecue chain County Line’s Quirino Silva as director of culinary operations, and Dallas Miller as the operations manager. Similar to the original location, the architecture design is the result of a collaboration between Austin-based Dick Clark & Associates and Arkansas-based Marlon Blackwell and Associates. The interior design was created by Fossler Interiors, local firm with credits including Swift's Attic and Wu Chow.
The original Flyrite Chicken on East 7th Street, opened last February and is on track to sell more than 154,000 chicken sandwiches in its first year.
Like the East Austin location, the Brentwood location will be open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays, and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
