Franklin Barbecue, home of Austin's famous brisket, launches its brand new pick-up trailer, starting with September orders. With the new truck comes a different way to place preorders as well.
Barbecue fans can now place orders for several times during Franklin's operating days. The new system means customers will be able to pick-up smoked meats and all the fixings every half-hour from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. by selecting a slotted time on the new website. The new slots will open up at 9 a.m. on the first Monday of the month for the following month.
The trailer have a hot and cold section for the different types of meats and dishes. It includes a food warmer and refrigeration for the orders of the day. Franklin told Eater previously that customers will come up to the window at their designated times, check in, get their ticket printed up, and then their order is put together.
Next to come for Franklin Barbecue are housemade sausages.
