Hat Creek Burger Co. is coming to the Domain Northside on the corner of Rock Rose and Esperanza Crossing, across from MAD Greens. The local chain is known for its Angus-beef burgers, hand-cut fries, homemade pickles, creative shakes, and how it caters to kids with playscapes and smaller size offerings including gluten-free chicken nuggets and sides. It is set to open in December.

Fan favorites such as Tuesday Night Family Night (half-price Little and Big Hat Burgers from 5 p.m. to close) and $1 beer Thursdays will continue at this new location. Additionally, like other Hat Creek locations, it will offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and feature local purveyors like Vital Farms, Cuvée Coffee, and Strange Land Brewery.

The local love extends to the chain’s community giving program. Everyday, the company makes 100 cheeseburgers at its Burnet Road location, which are then delivered by volunteers to the homeless around town.

After humble beginnings as a food trailer started by former Longhorn Drew Gressett and three others, the chain currently has four locations around Austin. It is also opening a location in Lakeway by the end of the year. No word on which will open first.

Hat Creek Burger Co.’s plans come on the heels of recent expansion announcements to the Domain Northside from chicken-and-waffle peddler 24 Diner and Sprinkles, the Los Angeles-based chain which plans to open an all-hours cupcake ATM this November.
