The latest nine restaurant tidbits in Austin served right now

Garden and Gun highlighted Olamaie in its new issue with a piece from John T. Edge. He examined the restaurant's Southern in Texas approach. Edge also recommended a stop over at Freedmen's for smokey banana pudding.

— Nightcap made Food Network's list of bars with good food.

— Food Network also decided that Gourdough's Public House's Black Betty represents Texas’ best ice cream dessert.

— Favor expanded its delivery area all the way up north to Cedar Park, and all the way south down to Slaughter Lane.

— JW Marriott once again topped last month's liquor sales in Austin.

— Breakfast trailer Paperboy is on vacation until next week.

Saveur trekked fine dining restaurant Rancho Loma in the West Texas town of Talpa, and took a look at Coleman, Texas, where the owners Robert and Laurie Williamson opened Rancho Pizzeria, and plan on bringing a new tasting room.

— Tiny Pies instead of a wedding cake? Why not?

— Fired Up Inc., the Austin company which oversees Italian chain Johnny Carino, filed for bankruptcy this month.
