Evil Wiener, the hot dog food truck, had its generator stolen on Sunday, which isn’t the first time it’s happened. Owner Roger Zapata is hoping to replace the generator soon, but the truck is closed this week, which could potentially extend into the following week as well.

Update, July 27: Evil Wiener is back open today.

The first theft happened in April 2015, when someone(s) broke into the truck and walked away with its generator. The truck was parked at East 6th and Waller streets. Owner Roger Zapata started a GoFundMe campaign to cover the cost of that new generator.

Because of that incident, the truck moved to a different spot, adding locks and other protection measures, as reported by KXAN. That still didn’t deter the theft.

Zapata opened the roaming hot dog truck in 2010.
