Ms. P's Electric Cock's Brick and Mortar Dream Comes True

After toying with the idea of opening a fried chicken palace two years ago, Ms. P's Electric Cock's dreams are coming true this summer, as pointed out by tipster Matthew Green. The new brick and mortar is taking over the closed Pizza Patron on Oltorf Street.

Sadly, this means the iconic trailer is shutting down on South Congress, according to owner Perry Ray (a.k.a. Ms. P). She said that the block is turning into a parking garage. The trailer will close by the end of July. The second one, currently found on Waller Street, will potentially be relocated somewhere else in Austin, perhaps along Rainey Street.

The new indoor space on Oltorf will allow Ms. P to expand on the already-hearty menu, adding more Southern comfort dishes like meatloaf, short ribs, and other seasonal sides like fried okra. Lunch and dinner will be offered initially, with breakfast added on later. Beer and wine will be served, too.

Customers will be able to order table service within the "farmhouse chic" space, which’ll included a patio. She’s aiming to open the restaurant in August.

Ms. P's put up one of its trailers for sale in 2014 in anticipation of raising money for a new restaurant. It originally opened in 2010 on Rainey Street and moved to South Congress in 2011.
