Vigilante, the board gaming bar and restaurant, is looking to raise more money for further construction costs. Specific details spelled out on its website include putting up framework, installing electrical and mechanical systems, and creating the bar.
The team, which includes CEO Preston Swincher and president Philip Kromer, are seeking an additional $150,000. For those who choose to contribute, with a minimum of $500, investment perks include membership, free game rentals, and previewing the space.
The restaurant will offer fully-specialized tables built for eating, drinking, and playing. The team shaped everything from the way those tables were built (lit-up just so players can see their games, service call buttons, trays for food) to food options (sliders and calzones so it's not messy), based on intensive surveys. There will be over 150 board games to chose from, as well as two private rooms with themes.
Vigilante announced its original Kickstarter campaign for over $31,000 in February, which was completed in March. The opening is being pushed back from summer to November now.
NextSeed is a Texas-based crowdfunding site. Other Austin businesses which have used the site include Jenna's Asian Kitchen and SquareRut Kava Bar.
