— Yatai is staying true to parent Michi Ramen and prior Hole in the Wall tenant East Side King by now offering ramen. The small Cup O' Michi comes with either vegetable broth or tonkotsu, and various toppings.

— (512) Brewing Company is adding new space in South Austin, found on the other side of Highway 35, which will include a tap room.

— French-inspired Blue Dahlia Bistro is expanding with a third location out in San Marcos, set to open this fall. There are currently two cafes right now, one on East 11th Street, and the other on Bee Cave Road.

— It’s Thrillist listicle time: first, pizzerias across the country with Via 313, and then for best Texas breweries, which includes Hops & Grain, Austin Beerworks, Live Oak Brewing Company, Jester King Brewery and Real Ale Brewing Co. all on the list.

— Joe's Organics turns restaurant's food waste into compost, which owner Joe Diffie then uses to grow produce and peddles right back to those restaurants.

Statesman's BuzzFeed-esque rundown of Texas smells (yes) includes barbecue, fried foods from the State Fair, queso, Whataburger, and chili.
