Austin’s culinary community, including Olamaie, Contigo, Parkside, along with Portland’s Salt & Straw Ice Cream, are coming together to help local chicken farm Dewberry Hills Farm recover from weather-related incidents within the past year. The farm’s buildings and chicken tents were wrecked during the recent spat of thunderstorms and flooding, plus last year's tornado.
The event, dubbed "Do For Dewberry," takes place on Sunday, June 19 at Springdale Farm. The participating eleven restaurants will offer special dishes from 1 to 5 p.m. Along with grub, there will be drinks, games, music, and an auction for additional funds. The full list follows below.
Advanced tickets are $55, and $65 at the door. All funds collected from the event will help the poultry farm build stronger chicken coops that will able to hold up during severe weather circumstances. Slow Foods Austin recently held a happy hour at Olamaie to help with Dewberry’s efforts, too.
