Noted Tex-Mex fan ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons dined at Matt’s El Rancho this week.

— Nightcap owner Christin Rowan divulged the process it took for her to open the restaurant and bar in Clarksville, from being funded in January 2015 to finally opening in October. She talked about how she maneuvered zoning changes, parking requirements, and construction permitting.

— Sea Dragon, the Vietnamese/Chinese restaurant in Wooten, appears to have closed, as pointed out by Chowhounders.

— The proposed downtown train station revamp on 4th Street between Trinity and Red River would include a pedestrian plaza with food vendors.

— Odd Duck's happy hour is now available on Sundays, too.

— The Daily Meal put together a guide to barbecue festivals, but, as The Smoking Ho pointed out, there should have been more Texas inclusions. The website also wrote up an Austin taco guide, including trailer Taquito Aviles and the usual suspects.

— Two lawsuits which allege that Tito’s Handmade Vodka wasn’t actually handcrafted have been dismissed.
