The Brewer’s Table, the brewpub from beer veteran Jake Maddux, launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise more money for construction and development. He aims on putting beer and food on the same level. It's all about oak, with wood-fermented beers, and wood-fired fare. It’s still on track to open later this year.

Maddux is asking for $250,000 through NextSeed as a way to involve the community. Those funds would go towards interior finishing touches and working on the outdoor area, which would include sun shades, bocce ball, and other amenities and activities. Investment perks include party invitations, preferred reservations, and membership into The Cask & Coal Society, with different levels of benefits, like free beer..

The centerpiece of the restaurant/bar would be the namesake brewery’s table on the mezzanine. Brewer’s is already testing out its first beer with brewery Drew Durish, an amber lager. There will be a pop-up dinner series planned featuring the new brew.

Jake Maddux was most recently Salt & Time’s beverage direction, and he previously worked for Anchor Brewing and New Belgium Brewing Company. Ned Elliott, who was originally set to develop the menu, is no longer involved.

Vigilante, the board gaming bar, launched a crowdfunding campaign through NextSeed this month, after completing a Kickstarter campaign in March. Hops & Grain embarked on its own push for a San Marcos facility.
