Rainey Street bar Icenhauer's is expanding with a new cocktail lounge, Sellers, on West 4th Street. It will unveil to the public on Labor Day, September 5.
The bar will be all about alcohol with an extensive cocktail and spirits list, with a major focus on martinis. Food isn’t in the works. There will be live music, a dance floor, and private dining space. The lounge will be designed by Michael Hsu’s firm. Because it will be inspired by the 1970s, expect a lot of velvet, brass, and wood details.
The address at 213 West 4th Street used to be home to Castro’s Warehouse and the infamous Qua, run by shady nightclub owner Mike Yassine. Other bars in the vicinity include Peche, Isla, Hangar Lounge, Rain, and Garage.
Icenhauer’s debuted with female-named cocktails on Rainey Street in 2010. Michael also formed his own company for the two bars, Icenhauer Ventures, with more projects expected for the future.
