Coast, the replacement restaurant for wine bar Mulberry, will start dishing out seafood on Friday, July 1 Update, June 29: The opening is being pushed back to Friday, July 8. It's helmed by the same chef, Ruston Richardson, who was inspired by Southern California and the Gulf.
Update, July 8: Coast opens today with reservations-only dinner tonight and Saturday.
Update, July 12: Coast is hosting a grand opening party on Thursday, July 14 with free bites and drinks, plus raffles with prizes like a year's worth of free brunch from 5 p.m. to midnight.
This menu includes ceviche, barbecue prawns, fish sandwiches and tacos, For people who aren't fish fans, there's a burger covered in bacon and jalapeno marmalade. General manager Karina Lopez (also formerly of Mulberry) created the beverage list, including wines and cocktails.
To celebrate the opening, there will be a big seafood cookout on the Fourth of July. Coast will be open from 4 to 11 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, until 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, and serve Sunday brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Mulberry announced its shutter after seven years last fall. In anticipation of the opening of Coast, the restaurant popped up at Container Bar and Parlor & Yard with a trailer.
