At the beginning of Barbecue Week, Eater asked readers to pick out their favorite barbecue spot in Austin, and the tallies are in. The resounding winner, it seems, is Brown’s Bar-B-Que, with a whooping 28% of the votes. The barbecue trailer was followed by La Barbecue, and then Micklethwait Craft Meats. There were nearly 4,000 votes all together.
Brown’s is run by pitmaster Daniel Brown, who has been making barbecue in Austin since 2006. Nowadays, his truck can be found parked outside of Corner Bar on South Lamar, serving up brisket, ribs, and chicken, and free barbecue Sundays with just a bar tab.
