— A vigil was held outside of Oil Can Harry's last night in honor of the victims of the horrible nightclub shooting in Orlando over the weekend. Austin mayor Steve Adler spoke to the crowd.

— John Lewis popped back at La Barbecue while he was in town this weekend for some more staff training. He had some time for Via 313 pizza, too.

— The original owners of Tam Deli, Tam Bui, sold the Vietnamese restaurant, so she can retire, as reported by Austin 360. The name and menu will stay the same under the new owners.

— New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees preferred to order from Salt Lick’s airport location for his first barbecue meal of his recent Austin trip. He also ducked into Wu Chow for dinner.

— Employees of a Wendy's in San Marcos went on strike after a co-worker fainted because of a malfunctioning air conditioner, which hadn’t been fixed for several months.

— Hops & Grain is looking to expand into San Marcos with a brewery and taproom, all run by wind energy, reported Austin 360. There is no specific location pegged down, but it will be partially funded through crowfunding investment site Wefunder. (Vigilante, the forthcoming board gaming bar, is looking to raise additional funds through a similar campaign.)

— Actor Zach Gilford, better known as Matt Saracen from Friday Night Lights, played darts at Clive Bar last week.

Former Jean Georges pastry chef and Top Chef: Just Desserts judge Johnny Iuzzini hit up several Austin restaurants while he was in town for a cooking demo as part of his role as Macy's culinary council chef. This includes Emmer & Rye, Wu Chow, La Barbecue, Gelateria Gemelli, Irene's, Fixe, and Juniper.

— PureWow's diners list includes all-hours 24 Diner.
