The team behind Jacoby’s Restaurant & Mercantile is expanding with Grizzelda’s, the group’s brand new restaurant focused on upscale Mexican cuisine with Texas influences. It’ll be found across the street at 105 Tillery Street, and is set to open later this year.

Just like Jacoby’s, Grizzelda’s will use meat from the family ranch out in Melvin. Executive chef Albert Gonzalez will command both kitchens, along with chef Austin Ewald. General manager Kaity Zitz will also join them.

The restaurant is named after one of the original cooks at Jacoby's Cafe in Melvin. Owner Adam Jacoby told Eater, "She helped open the cafe, constantly spread love and incredible food, and simply put, as an absolute force to be reckoned with."

Kris Swift is overseeing the design, which will take inspiration from Texan and Mexican designs. Jacoby decided to open a new restaurant because the timing and space were just right. He opened Jacoby's in August 2014.
