Austin’s World Beer Cup Awards, Popular Tacos, and More A.M. Intel

The latest four restaurant tidbits in Austin served right now

— Austin was represented in this year's World Beer Cup awards. Circle Brewing Co.'s Archetype Historical IPA was awarded the gold medal for historical beers, Independence Brewing got gold for Power & Light Pale under the Golden or Blonde Ale category, and ABGB received the bronze for Rocket 100 under American-style lager.

Business Insider used Foursquare data sorted the best tacos in the country. Overall, Torchy's Tacos was #1, beating Tacodeli (#6) and Veracruz All Natural (#11).

— June Rodil, the beverage director of McGuire Moorman Hospitality (Jeffrey's, Josephine House, etc.) is all about that sherry. In a conversation with Food and Wine, she said the best introduction is through sherry cocktails.
