Eater Austin Seeks an Associate Editor. Is It You?

Come work for Eater

AVN Photo Lab/Shutter

Attention, would-be members of the Eater team: we're looking to hire an Austin resident who is obsessed with the city’s dining scene to take on the job of Eater Austin associate editor.

We're looking for someone who is available to blog for Eater on a daily basis, working directly with the current Austin editor Nadia Chaudhury. There will be an added opportunity for feature writing for the right candidate. Editing and other duties are also included in the daily job tasks. Additional skills such as photography, familiarity with content management systems, social media, etc. are an added bonus. The job doesn’t entail writing restaurant reviews.

This is a part-time, freelance gig with commensurate pay. Applicants with flexible schedules (e.g.: no full-time, nine-to-five jobs) are encouraged to apply. You'll be able to work remotely as long as you can keep your ear close to the ground for good restaurant and nightlife intel.

If you think this sounds like a great fit, drop an email to austin@eater.com with a brief description of yourself, resume, and a paragraph or two about your journalism background and why you'd be a good fit for the job. Put Eater Austin Associate Editor in the subject line. Please include a link to a writing sample that shows your ability to do the job, and—if you have one—a link to your blog, Twitter, and/or Instagram accounts. If we like what we see, we'll be in touch. Thanks!
