Soon there will be twice as much Caffe Medici in downtown Austin with the coffee shop’s walk-up window near 8th Street. It will debut sometime this week within the Bosche-Hogg Building on 804 Congress.

Update, June 7: Caffe Medici's counter window is now open.

This is the first window counter-only spot for Caffe Medici. The menu at 8C, what owners Michael and Allison Vaclav are calling the location, will offer mostly the same drinks as the other spots. Though, at the beginning, pour-overs won’t be served.

While perfect for grab-and-go coffee, there will be a small patio decked out with planters and seats for those who want to linger. The Vaclavs chose the location because of the recent revitalization of the area, from offices, theaters, to bars. This fifth location is just six blocks away from the third cafe near 2nd Street.

The couple opened their fourth cafe on South Lamar last summer. There are also locations in Guadalupe and West Lynn.
