CONTIGO’S 5TH ANNIVERSARY PARTY
When: Saturday, May 7, 5 to 9 p.m.
What: Contigo’s five-year-old birthday bash is back again with contests (how many cow tongues can you eat?), games, miniature horses and more. The raffle benefits Urban Roots, with drinks and food available, too.

KENTUCKY DERBY DAY
When: Saturday, May 7
What: Don your best hat and watch the famous horse race with juleps in hat.

EAT YOUR WORDS
When: Tuesday, May 10, 6 p.m.
What: Hear food stories from chefs and related people at the Austin Bat Cave benefit, with Juniper's Nic Yanes, Andrew Wiseheart, Kevin Fink, Statesman critic Matthew Odam, and others during a four course dinner with wines selected by June Rodil.

OFFICIAL DRINK OF AUSTIN
When: Thursday, May 12, 7 to 10 p.m.
What: Austin's best bars compete to make the city's defining cocktail this year with Austin Food and Wine Alliance and The Tipsy Texan, including Drink.Well, Backbeat, Geraldine's, last year’s winner Garage, and others. For food, local restaurants are offering various bites, including Chi'lantro's wing pops brined with vodka, brisket buns from Vox Table, and Amy's Ice Cream's boozy floats.

UNTAPPED FESTIVAL
When: Saturday, May 14, 3 to 10:30 p.m.
What: The traveling beer festival comes to Austin for the fifth year with 334 craft brews in tow from over 75 different breweries. The full beer list includes Deep Ellum, Goose Island, The Bruery, and many more, with food from Salt & Time, Frank, and others. There will be a pre-party at Hops and Grain on Friday, May 13.
Where: Carson Creek Ranch, 9507 Sherman Road.

TASTEMAKER AWARDS
When: Tuesday, May 17, 7 to 10 p.m.
What: CultureMap's annual awards is back again, with nominees old and new, like Todd Duplechan, Ji Peng Chen, and others. Tim Love emcees the evening.
Where: Bullock Texas State History Museum, Downtown.

SPRING SAUSAGE SOCIAL
When: Wednesday, May 25, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
What: Lucky Peach's book party for The Wurst of Lucky Peach takes over Freedmen's for an outdoor party with music, games, sausages, and beer.
Where: Freedmen’s, West Campus.
