HOUSTONFixe’s Max Sage is the latest Austin pastry chef to pop up at Houston’s Fluff Bake Bar on Saturday, May 21. His inventive goods will include saffron pancakes and pistachio ice cream sandwiches. For something savory, get the ode to Notorious B.I.G. (since it’s his birthday): the notorious pig sandwich with pork belly bacon and lard biscuit. Hours start at 10 a.m., ending when everything is sold out. [EHOU]

CONTEST WIRETeo Gelato is competing in this year’s Gelato World Tour, though the Americas East regional category at this point. MORE BOOZE NEWSPaula’s Texas launched a new liqueur this week: the summer-ready grapefruit. It was used in the Official Drink of Austin this year from Geraldine’s. The booze can be found by the bottle at Twin Liquors, South Lamar Wine and Spirits, and other spots. Bars and restaurants using the alcoholic drink include Lucy’s Fried Chicken and Mi Madre’s.
