— Geraldine’s is the new winner of Official Drink of Austin. It came down to the hotel restaurant and Backbeat for the final cocktail-off, and Geraldine’s won with Far From the Tree, made with rum, Paula's Texas Orange, pecan orgeat, apple juice, and lime. Look out for the cocktail on Geraldine's menu something within the week. Last year, Garage won with the vodka-grapefruit cocktail Indian Paintbrush.

Former La Barbecue pitmaster Esaul Ramos is looking to open up his own smoked meets shop in San Antonio, 2M Smokehouse. He and his brother Joe are looking to raise funds to help build the space.

Vice Munchies delved into Whole Foods' experimental test kitchen food truck with Tien Ho, who used to work at Momofuku and is now the supermarket's vice president of culinary and hospitality. Currently the truck is dishing out pupusas.
