La Barbecue is jumping aboard the cashless bandwagon by no longer taking bills and coins as payment starting tomorrow, Wednesday, April 5. Only major credit and debit cards will be accepted. The barbecue trailer is making the switch because of safety concerns, according to general manager Ali Clem. It also creates less paperwork, so the truck can expand both staff and hours.
La Barbecue follows Chi’lantro’s footsteps this month. The Korean-Mexican fusion restaurants stopped taking cash at all locations in April. The trailers had been cashless for several months already. Owner Jae Kim told Eater that it was "a slow and careful process."
Starting Tomorrow la Barbecue will be a cashless business!! We accept all major CC including AMEX :) -Ali
