A Kerbey Lane manager allegedly attacked an employee earlier this month, as reported by KVUE. Manager Zechariah Giberson, the unnamed female employee, and other co-workers went to Curra’s Grill for post-work drinks on Saturday, April 9. Then the two went to Giberson's apartment, where they drank and got into an argument. According to the police affidavit and KVUE:
After they calmed down and took another shot, Giberson leaned forward and kissed her on the mouth. The employee told police she pushed him away. This is when Giberson pushed her back into the cabinets and started pushing her toward the laundry room and against the machines.
Then he allegedly continued to assault her, including choking, slapping, and even "bit[ing] down on her cheek," as she fought back. She left the apartment and went straight to Kerbey Lane (presumably on South Lamar), where she met up with a co-worker whom she texted. Giberson is being charged with aggravated assault.
Update, 12:38 p.m.: Eater reached out to Kerbey Lane, which said that Giberson "is no longer employed."
Last year, Kerbey Lane had to issue an apology after two customers experienced racist comments from a diner.
