Chi’lantro’s Austin takeover continues with the opening of its third brick and mortar in far north Austin tomorrow, Saturday, April 23. Korean-Mexican fusion fare awaits customers in the new spot, like barbecue, chicken wings, tacos, burritos, and the famed kimchi fries.
The Chi’lantro Domain, as it’s being called, took over the space vacated by Boise Fry Company at 11005 Burnet Road. It is found in the same plaza as Szechuan House. The hours are from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day.
Owner Jae Kim announced that all Chi’lantro locations stopped accepting cash this month. This include the downtown trailer, and the South Lamar and other Burnet Road brick and mortars.
The only Chi’lantro food trucks currently in service, aside from the permanent Congress Avenue one, are used for catering gigs for now. Kim told Eater he’s looking for a late night location for a trailer. He also shared previously that he is looking to expand Chi'lantro even more by the end of 2017.
