— SXSW dates for next year were announced: Friday, March 10 through Sunday, March 19. Potential panels can be submitted to PanelPicker, the system where people can vote on programming, beginning on June 28.

— Tamale House East is still closed until Friday, April 22.

— Odd Duck’s work with Zilker Elementary School’s garden program was highlighted by KXAN.

— UT sports fans shouldn't expect anymore Austin's Pizza during games since the pizzeria's contract wasn't renewed. It is being replaced with DoubleDave's Pizzaworks, which includes its spot at the Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. Fans of Austin's Pizza can nevertheless find frozen pies at HEB now.

With Austin Food & Wine Festival coming right up Even though Austin Food & Wine Festival is now canceled this weekend, Austin Way had asked participating chefs, both local and out-of-state, what their favorite restaurants and bars are in the city. Hugh Acheson mentioned La Barbecue and Olamaie, Andrew Zimmern said Foreign & Domestic among others, and Jonathan Waxman frequents an unnamed taco trailer on 6th Street.

—  Austin 360 also conducted questionnaires with several chefs, including Janina O’Leary and David Bull.

— KEYE hung out with Stiles Switch BBQ & Brew pitmaster Lance Kirkpatrick while he smoked and cut up meat.

— Hotel Van Zandt (including Geraldine’s Willie Cup cocktail) and South Congress Hotel made it to Texas Monthly’s hot hotel round-up.

The Statesman's Michael Barnes explored the history of Pluckers Wing Bar, from the first day in 1995 to the free concert it hosted (with buffet) last fall.
