AUSTIN FOOD & WINE FESTIVAL The festival was canceled this week.

What: Austin Food & Wine Festival returns to Austin for the fifth year, bringing along a lineup including local chefs like Tyson Cole, Janina O'Leary, Odd Duck, Ramen Tatsu-ya, alongside national favorites like Hugh Acheson, Antonia Lofaso, Andrew Zimmern, Jon Shook, Vinny Dotolo, and many others. There will be cooking demos, seminars, fire pits, and the taco contest. New to this year's festival is the Social Hour at the Roosevelt Room, which is already sold out.

HUGH ACHESON BOOK SIGNING Since AF&WF was canceled, Acheson isn't coming to Austin.

What: Along with making an appearance at Austin Food & Wine Festival, Georgia chef Hugh Acheson is making time for a quick signing of his latest cookbook The Broad Fork.

OSKAR BLUES BREWERY’S BURNING CAN FESTIVAL
When: Saturday, April 23
What: Even though the Colorado brewery’s Austin home won’t be ready until next month, Oskar Blues is still hosting its signature beer, music, and sports (beer relay, biking) festival in a different location. Breweries lined up span the world, from Alaskan Brewing, Asahi Brewery in Japan, to locals like Independence Brewing Company.

NOLA, TEXAS MUSIC AND FOOD FESTIVAL

What: Together with musical performances from Bob Schneider, Asleep at the Wheel, and others, New Orleans chef John Besh is cooking up a VIP brunch for the Louisiana-themed festival, alongside a giant crawfish boil.

LIVE FIRE
When: Thursday, April 7, 6:30 to 9 p.m.
What: Meat lovers will head to the Austin Food and Wine Alliance event and gorge on all things beef made by chefs from Austin, San Antonio, and Dallas. The full line up includes barbecue from Franklin, Bloody Mary beef ribs from Freedmen's, beef tongue pastrami from Filament, ice cream with beef fat jalapeno bread crumbs from Spun, and much more.

WALLER CREEK POP-UP PICNIC

What: Austin restaurants are putting together special picnic baskets for the Waller Creek fundraiser for an outdoor dining evening.
