Lick Honest Ice Creams is moving on from its original spot on South Lamar just further down the street to Lamar Union. The relocation will happen sometime in late March.Co-owner Anthony Sobotik said in a statement:

The old space has served us well over the last four and a half years but we knew we had to find a new space to ensure we’d have a long-term home on South Lamar.

Update, March 25: Lick Ice Creams' official first day in Lamar Union will be Tuesday, April 5 at 2 p.m.The last day of the original South Lamar store is Wednesday, March 30, at 10 p.m.

The new Lamar Union site will be larger than the original South Lamar one. Hours will be from 12:30 to 10 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, and until 11:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The move will be celebrated with single free scoops on Tuesday, April 5 from 7 to 10 p.m., with proceeds from that day going towards Hill Country Ride for AIDS.

The apartment complex is already home to Alamo Drafthouse, Shake Shack, Vox Table, and Cantine, with a forthcoming restaurant from the Vox Table owners. Barley Swine recently vacated the same retail center to Burnet Road, which coincidentally also houses the third Lick Ice Creams, too.

Lick first opened in 2032 South Lamar back in 2011. There are three Licks all together, including one out in San Antonio. A fourth location is in the works for Mueller, too.
