Patika is closing down its popular downtown coffee cart immediately. Owners Andy Wigginton and Nick Krupa explained why with a note on the website:

Unfortunately, the climate for trailers downtown has become challenging. In addition to some recent electrical setup issues with the city, the sale of our lot has made us come to the conclusion that re-investing in the needed changes for the kart just doesn't make sense financially.

They are still looking to relocate the cart somewhere in downtown Austin. They opened the truck six years ago, originally on Congress and 2nd Street, and then ventured over to 4th Street. Never fear, though: the duo still slings coffee from the brick and mortar on South Lamar, which opened back in 2014.
