SXSW and Paul Qui are tackling the subject of on-demand food and restaurant delivery services, with the rise of options like Favor, UberEats, and Amazon Prime Now. The chef is joining Favor’s Keith Duncan Jag Bath, among other guests, to talk about how these businesses have shaped the way people eat. The panel takes place on Sunday, March 13, at 11 a.m. in the Driskill.
The Austin-based delivery app is also offering special deliveries for SXSWers and others out and about waiting in lines, running to panels, and just taking advantage of free drinks. Cyclists will drop off orders from the food trucks set up at the SouthBites Trailer Park. This includes local favorites like Kerlin BBQ, Veracruz All Natural, and out-of-towners like Roti Rolls and Salt & Straw.
This year for SXSW, Qui is also hosting several famed chefs, including Enrique Olvera, Ludo Lefebvre, and José Andrés, for a series of SouthBites dinners. Last year, Qui spoke to musician Questlove about their respective food obsessions.
SXSW runs from Friday, March 11 to Sunday, March 20.
