The end of March means it’s that point of the month to look forward to the new batch of restaurants heading to Austin, including a new coffee shop/bar/grocery store hybrid, seafood expansions, and more.
East Riverside and Downtown
Mour Cafe, a bar, cafe, and speciality grocery shop, will open two locations this spring, the first within the South Shore District apartments on East Riverside, followed by the second one in the Colorado Tower in downtown.
Papadom Indian restaurant is imminent in the former Bambu/Imperia space at 310 Colorado. While Indian food is foregrounded on the menu, Papadom will represent all of the Asian continent in its dining room, like Chinese stir fry and Thai curry.
Joining The Yard at Waller Creek in the refurbished Sheraton Hotel on East 11th is The Swing In, a coffee bar-slash-cocktail lounge featuring Amy's Ice Creams, Little Lucy's Mini Donuts, and all the booze.
Farmers market faves Juice Society will open a storefront in Lamar Union. Look for weekday access to grab-and-go flavors like the green apple-based Zest and the creamy Hemptation.
Deckhand Oyster Bar & Seafood is expanding with a second location in the Lake Hills Shopping Center at 4211 South Lamar. The original location in Round Rock is a favorite among those who like fresh Gulf oysters and Thai-inspired entrees.
Freebirds World Burrito will occupy space in The Parke Shopping Center, which is currently under construction.
