Rainey Street Food Court Closed Up This Weekend

One less food truck haven in Austin.

The city is down one more food truck park, with the shuttering of the Rainey Street Food Court this past weekend, as reported by KXAN. East Side Fillin’ Station also had its last day on Sunday.

Taking over Rainey Street Food Court’s site at 74 Rainey Street will be another condo building with a restaurant attached. The food trailer court was in danger of shutting down in late 2014, but that was temporarily extended. The current food trucks are either relocating like doughnut truck Little Lucy's, and taqueria La Sirena. There are talks of opening a new food truck destination across the street.

Update, April 4: Food Trailers Austin put together a nifty guide on the former food truck court tenants' current plans.

With a similar destiny, the now-closed East Side Fillin’ Station, along with attached bar Wonderland on East 6th and Waller streets, will make way for a new hotel from property owners La Corsha Hospitality Group, which also runs Second Bar + Kitchen, Green Pastures (in the midst of renovations), and the forthcoming Boiler Nine Bar + Grill.
