— For President Barack Obama’s private dinner in Tarrytown earlier this month after his taco adventures, fancy chocolate shop Maggie Louise Confections created special gold-flecked chocolates as dessert for the dinner cooked by Fete Accompli's Quincy Adams Erickson.

— Several Austin food trucks and bars are taking a mini post-SXSW vacation to recover after serving during the very long festival. Veracruz All Natural is closed until Tuesday, March 22, and both Half Step and Whisler’s aren’t open today.

— Elijah Wood shared a love note with Via 313.

— Thrillist is getting into the barbecue bracket game, and so far, Kreuz Market, Black's Barbecue, Franklin Barbecue, and Louie Mueller Barbecue are all in the running still.

— Doc's Motorworks Bar and Grill on South Congress got pushback over a recent sign during SXSW which read "Girl, please, it's spandex not expand-x." The bar replaced the sign with a more positive note about loving spandex.
