— While Franklin Barbecue is usually closed on Mondays, the brisket haven is opening up shop today just to give out free barbecue out to people who use Verizon who signed up in advance.

— Flyers stating that Taco Cabana is banning all Donald Trump supporters aren’t true, according to chief operating officer Todd Coerver. He said that the taco chain doesn’t get involved in politics, it "just sell[s] tacos."

New No Va head chef Abby Yates will compete on Bravo’s next cooking television show Recipe for Deception. The episode, which airs on Thursday, March 17, centers on pickling. Chris Oh, Jonathan Waxman, and Max Silvestri serve as judges.

Now-shuttered Club 1808 is being sued for its involvement with the SXSW crash in 2014.

— Taco Flats set up a taco-focused trailer on South Congress for SXSW. The "Tacosteam" will be found on 1511 South Congress, next to Hey Cupcake! Look out for trompo tacos like al pastor.

— Peached Tortilla's forthcoming event space Peached Social House will include shipping containers.
