Finn & Porter, the Hilton Austin downtown hotel restaurant, is closing down. Its last day will be on Saturday, April 2. A new unknown concept will take its place later that month.
For the end of Finn & Porter's run, the restaurant will offer free champagne toasts to every diner. Special items from menus past will be added to the current lineup. A tribute wall will go up, so customers can share their thoughts, as well.
The Hilton dining spot opened in 2004. Executive chef Peter Maffei joined the kitchen in 2013. He will remain part of the hotel’s dining staff, and presumably over the new restaurant, too.
In previous years, friends of Eater cited Finn & Porter as one of their best meals ever and biggest dining surprise. The restaurant’s hours until the shutter are from 5 to 10 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
