The only thing Austinites love more than barbecue? Each other, like the happy couple who combined the two and got married at Franklin Barbecue today. They arrived at the restaurant’s line early, with friends, judge, and wedding license in tow, cleared through Aaron Franklin beforehand. The pair decided on the famed barbecue institution as the setting for their special day because "they love Franklin," Franklin told Eater.

After the couple were wed, they toasted with prosecco. No, the wedding party didn’t cut the line for their celebratory smoked meats lunch reception—they’re still waiting in line for the restaurant's opening at 11 a.m.

This is Franklin Barbecue's first wedding held in the line, aside from a single private ceremony held at night within the restaurant. Former Eater Austin editor Meghan McCarron predicted that this would happen last year.
