East Side King has a new campus home with Space 24 Twenty, the Urban Outfitters complex on the Drag. The first day of the food truck will be on Tuesday, March 1, and it will be open every day from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. While ramen isn’t coming back now that the mini-empire left Hole in the Wall last December, there will be beet home fries, brussels sprout salad, and chicken karaage.
This is the first permanent food truck within Space 24’s courtyard, which is curated by Marc Vetri. The Philadelphia chef opened his first out-of-Pennsylvania branch of Pizzeria Vetri as part of the Urban Outfitters project last November. He sold a majority of his restaurant group to the retail company, and teased more Austin locations of his restaurants.
East Side King is still making progress with the Thai Kun brick and mortar in the Domain's Rock Rose district, with fried fish and papaya salad, pegged to open this month. There are trailers on East, West, and Dirty Sixth streets, and South Lamar.
