While working on reopening Veggie Heaven on West 5th Street, owner Stacy Chen is keeping herself busy by opening another restaurant, Yoshi Kitchen, in Hancock. Chen told Eater that she always wanted to open something similar to her grandmother’s ramen shop in Japan. The menu leans towards Taiwanese and Japanese cuisine, like rice bowls, ramen, grilled items, bao, along with burgers and wings. As a bonus, there will be self-serve frozen yogurt and ice cream.

Yoshi is set to debut sometime later this year, either in November or December. It’ll be found on the ground floor of the Uptown apartment complex at 3320 Harmon Avenue. Look out for a dog-friendly patio, too.

Veggie Heaven’s opening on West 5th Street is being delayed until the summer, with an opening date expected sometime in July. Among the new vegan offerings will include ramen and kimchi. The 16-year-old vegetarian restaurant in campus shuttered in 2014 because the original owner, Chen's mother Mei, wanted to retire. Stacy picked up the reins for the new location.
