Bon Appetit took a look at Fun Fun Fun Fest’s food sales last year, which included 3,200 sales of Chi'lantro's kimchi fries and 110 queso gallons from Frank. Festival attendees also shared their queso opinions, favorite food-related musical lyrics, including an explicit line about lamb venison, and more.

— San Marcos now requires any businesses looking for tax breaks and subsidies to pay its workers a $15 minimum wage.

— picked Round Rock's Brass Tap as one of the 51 best beer bars in the country through a reader poll. Why? Aside from beer, the bar is also haunted, according to Austin 360.

— Serious Eats director and The Food Lab author J. Kenji López-Alt went through a mini-food tour of Austin while he was in town this week to teach a Central Market cooking class. He hit up Qui, Franklin Barbecue, and Launderette, though he wasn't impressed with the service.

— Austin made the the 12th spot in Travel & Leisure's list of the top cities of the continent, calling out The Townsend, Torchy's Tacos, and Micklethwait Craft Meats. Last summer, the publication called the city the "next great food town."
