Korean-Mexican fusion empire Chi’lantro’s restaurants will stop accepting cash in April. This includes locations on South Lamar, Burnet Road, and the forthcoming one near the Domain debuting in the spring. Owner Jae Kim told Eater that about 15% of the restaurant’s customers use cash, so "this is a big risk for us." He added that the company has been soliciting feedback about the transition. "We are very sensitive to making this change," he said, "and it will be a slow and careful process."

All of the trucks, including the recent downtown trailer, have been cashless for two months for "safety" reasons. "Our staff feel less burdened on the road," Kim explained, without having money on hand. So far, "it’s been going really well," he said.

Other cashless-only restaurants around the country include Split Bread in San Francisco, Bozzeilli's Deli & Pizza's DC location. Are there any other similar restaurants or bars in Austin?
